Our volunteers help us provide the best care to our animals, create a friendly atmosphere at events, and help us help the communities we serve.

Here are some volunteer positions we are looking to fill:

Fosters
(need to live within a 10 mile radius of South Salem, NY)
Foster one or more of our rescues in your home.  We take pride in finding the best homes for our rescues, and fostering gives us the time we need to do so.  Please note – we do not accept fosters under 21 years, persons who do not have permission to have an animal in their home or do not have a schedule that permits involved and responsible animal care.

Care and Wellness
(at our main locations)
Feeding, cleaning, grooming and socializing our RnR fosters.

Event Coordination
Create new fundraising event ideas and/or help coordinate ones already established.

Kitty Club Senior Program
Volunteering to come to one of our nursing home Kitty Club therapy sessions to help with the cats socializing with patients.

Social Media Awareness
Help RnR reach new followers on many social media platforms.

Transport Day Drivers
Drive our van to pick up location and pick up animals. Drive from pick up location to Rock n’ Rescue to deliver the animals. Valid drivers license needed. This may require handling of animals.

Volunteer Recruitment
Find new ways to bring more volunteers (like yourself!) to help with all of our events and general care.

We are glad that you have considered giving your time and talent to the care and socialization of our rescued pets and to helping generate awareness for our causes! We are so excited to have you!

General Volunteer Requirements:

All volunteers MUST be 12 and older.

Anyone 12-15 years old needs to be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is also an approved volunteer and may only volunteer on SUNDAYS or during the regular work week!

All volunteers are required to sign a release form.

Rock N’ Rescue does not discriminate on the basis of age, but not all opportunities are available to everyone based on age for insurance and safety related reasons.

If you are under 18 years of age a parent or guardian must sign also.

Complete the Volunteer Waiver and Release and please bring to your first volunteer experience. A parent needs to sign it on your behalf if you are under 18.
